Duplex Type Basket Strainer

It consists of two filtration housing chambers, each rated for 100% capacity connected in parallel by means of 3 Way Ball Valve, 2 Way Ball Valve or Butterfly Valve. Diversion of fluid flows without interruption of flow with manual change over valve or automatically (Pneumatic Actuator / Electrical Actuator Operated Valve) operated. 

Duplex Basket Strainers feature top removal of the screen. The screen is in the form of a basket with a lifting handle, so that all particulate captured and retained by the screen can be easily removed for disposal. The particulate matter is captured in the strainer basket. The line is then temporarily shut down and the basket removed for cleaning or replacement.  

Duplex Type Basket Strainer shaped like a basket and usually installed in a vertical cylinder. Duplex Basket Strainer is very easy to clean, since foreign particle is captured in the basket after change over the valve without getting plant shut-down. It can also sometimes offer more straining surface area than a plate strainer, improving flow rates, or decreasing pressure loss through the strainer. Duplex Type Basket Filter elements are generally used from  (S.S. 304/316/304L/316L) for corrosion resistance & long life performance.

Generally Duplex Basket Strainers are separated with Three Way Ball Valves (02 Nos.) or Two Way Ball valve (04 Nos.)/ Butterfly Valve (04 Nos.) connected with equalization tee, between two baskets strainer housing. Duplex Type Basket Strainer permits continuous operation because flow can be switched back and forth between two filter sections. This allows one side to be serviced while the other is in use.
