Kapha: anything which joins & in viscid in quality, thick liquid like. Excessive kapha leads to lethargy andslow body functions

A dosha is one of three bodily humors that make up one's constitution according to Ayurveda. Kaphais principally a combination of Earth and Water and is the energy that forms the body’s structure, andprovides the "glue" or cohesion that holds the cells together. Kapha supplies the water for all bodilyparts and systems. It lubricates joints, moisturizes the skin and maintains immunity. In balance, kapha isexpressed as love, calmness, and forgiveness. Out of balance, it leads to congestive disorders & phlegm,lethargy, laziness, cough, recurrent respiratory tract infections, joint stiffness, etc.
